Mais d\u2019abord\u2026 qu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019une hernie ?<\/h2><\/h3><\/div>

En m\u00e9decine, une <\/strong><\/span>hernie<\/strong> fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 un organe s\u2019\u00e9tant d\u00e9plac\u00e9 (en partie ou totalement) en dehors de sa cavit\u00e9. <\/strong>C\u2019est \u00e0 dire \u00e0 travers la paroi qui le contient en temps normal. G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne est d\u00fb \u00e0 une faiblesse au niveau d\u2019un tissu, ne r\u00e9sistant pas \u00e0 la pression exerc\u00e9e par un organe. L\u2019organe, en sortant de sa cavit\u00e9 habituelle, provoque un renflement<\/strong> qu\u2019on nomme <\/span>hernie<\/span>. Les sympt\u00f4mes sont diff\u00e9rents selon le type de <\/span>hernie.<\/span> Il en existe deux grands types : les hernies abdominales et les <\/strong><\/span>hernies discales<\/strong>.<\/strong> Situ\u00e9e <\/span>dans la paroi abdominale, elle se manifestera par l’apparition d’une masse souple et indolore. Les sympt\u00f4mes des hernies abdominales<\/h2><\/h3><\/div>

Les hernies abdominales concernent les <\/span>organes du ventre<\/span><\/a>, comme l\u2019intestin ou le colon, ou la graisse abdominale pouvant se d\u00e9placer en cas de faiblesse des muscles abdominaux. Elles sont nomm\u00e9es en fonction de leur localisation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

La hernie inguinale<\/h3><\/h3><\/div>

La <\/span>hernie inguinale<\/span> est nomm\u00e9e d\u2019apr\u00e8s le canal inguinal, constitu\u00e9 de deux orifices. L\u2019un communiquant avec la cavit\u00e9 abdominale, et l\u2019autre avec les bourses testiculaires chez l’homme ou les grandes l\u00e8vres chez la femme. Elle se manifeste par une pesanteur ou une grosseur en bas de l\u2019abdomen<\/strong>, sous le pli de l\u2019aine. Les hommes sont plus touch\u00e9s que les femmes par la <\/span>hernie inguinale<\/span> du fait de la pr\u00e9sence de l\u2019orifice par lequel passe les testicules. Ce type de <\/span>hernie<\/span> est \u00e0 surveiller de pr\u00e8s\u00a0: en effet, en l’absence d’intervention chirurgicale, une hernie inguinale peut s\u2019\u00ab\u00a0\u00e9trangler\u00a0\u00bb au niveau de l\u2019orifice et provoquer <\/span>une occlusion intestinale<\/span><\/a>. Un blocage emp\u00eachant les aliments, liquides et gaz de circuler normalement dans l’intestin et pouvant mener au d\u00e9c\u00e8s.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

La hernie hiatale<\/h3><\/h3><\/div>

La <\/span>hernie hiatale<\/span> est la plus courante des hernies diaphragmatiques, et survient quand l\u2019estomac ou l\u2019\u0153sophage se d\u00e9placent \u00e0 travers une ouverture du diaphragme : l\u2019orifice hiatal. Elle<\/span>\u00a0provoque un reflux gastro-\u0153sophagien ou des douleurs dans le thorax et sous les c\u00f4tes<\/strong>. Tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quente, elle touche pr\u00e8s de 20\u00a0% des adultes. Seules les formes s\u00e9v\u00e8res des <\/span>hernies hiatales<\/span> doivent \u00eatre op\u00e9r\u00e9es, c\u2019est \u00e0 dire lorsqu\u2019elles diminuent le volume respiratoire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

La hernie ombilicale<\/h3><\/h3><\/div>

Majoritairement indolore et ne causant aucune g\u00eane, la <\/strong><\/span>hernie ombilicale<\/strong> se referme d\u2019elle-m\u00eame dans 90\u00a0% des cas<\/strong>. Elle est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement due \u00e0 une occlusion incompl\u00e8te de la r\u00e9gion du cordon ombilical (situ\u00e9e dans l\u2019abdomen) <\/span>suite \u00e0 un accouchement.<\/span><\/a> Localis\u00e9e au niveau du nombril, elle touche surtout les femmes et leurs nourrissons. Dans la plupart des cas, l\u2019ouverture se rebouche peu apr\u00e8s la naissance du b\u00e9b\u00e9. Autrement, un traitement chirurgical sera n\u00e9cessaire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Les hernies discales<\/h2><\/h3><\/div>

Une hernie discale est due au d\u00e9placement d\u2019un disque intervert\u00e9bral<\/strong>. Elle peut donc toucher toutes les vert\u00e8bres, mais appara\u00eet plus fr\u00e9quemment dans la r\u00e9gion du bas du dos. Pathologie tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quente chez l\u2019adulte, c\u2019est la responsable de la fameuse sciatique<\/a> touchant plus souvent les 30-60 ans. Elle survient quand la couche dure d’un disque intervert\u00e9bral se d\u00e9chire ou se rompt. La partie interne du disque (la partie molle) sort alors de sa capsule et provoque la hernie discale. Elle est due notamment au vieillissement, au surpoids ou \u00e0 la r\u00e9p\u00e9tition de mauvaises postures<\/strong>. Elle irradie dans la nuque, les membres sup\u00e9rieurs ou inf\u00e9rieurs selon la vert\u00e8bre concern\u00e9e. On la soulage avec des massages, des antalgiques, parfois une op\u00e9ration.
